How to Improve the Sound Quality of Your Speakers

In this post, I will cover the topic of tweaking the sound quality of your speakers. However, this topic is rather complex and I will not be able to get into much detail. Instead I’m going to focus on some basic techniques which are easy to implement.

First of all, the speakers have to be set up properly. That means they should be placed on a stable surface which doesn’t vibrate. If you don’t have a stable surface or a surface which is not very hard then you might want to purchase some special speaker spikes which are usually mounted at the bottom of speakers that reduce the amount of vibrations. You can also use a blanket made out of felt which is place underneath the speaker. This will dampen the vibrations of the speaker enclosure to prevent those vibrations to be transferred on to the basement.

Locate the speakers such that the front of each speaker is facing towards the area that you will usually listen. High-frequency components usually travel into one specific direction.
